July 23, 2026|A partnership between Matungu Member of Parliament Peter Oscar Nabulindo and a Taiwan-based organization, TAISA & Alliance for Coding Africa, is expanding digital learning access to rural schools in the constituency.
On Tuesday, Mr. Vincent Wang, a representative of the organization, visited Kholera Senior School—one of the institutions already benefiting from the initiative—to assess progress and explore expansion to more schools. The tour included classroom interactions with teachers and learners using the new computer equipment.
Speaking at the school, Nabulindo emphasized the importance of digital literacy in modern education. “The future belongs to those who understand technology. Every child in Matungu deserves an equal opportunity to compete with learners anywhere in Kenya and across the world,” he said. He noted that the programme aims to prepare learners for careers in science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The MP thanked the organization for its investment, stating: “Development is about creating opportunities that change lives permanently. Education remains the greatest equalizer, and digital literacy is now one of the most important investments we can make for our young people.”
Mr. Wang expressed satisfaction with the programme’s progress, praising the enthusiasm of learners and teachers. “When we invest in education, we invest in the future. Seeing children confidently using computers here in Matungu gives us great hope that this partnership is making a real difference,” he said. He reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting more schools in the constituency.
Teachers at Kholera Senior School reported improved classroom engagement and learner confidence. Deputy Principal Mr. Omoka noted that many pupils who had never used a computer before are now navigating digital learning platforms with ease.
The initiative aims to bridge the digital divide in Matungu, providing learners with practical ICT skills and access to technology-driven learning opportunities.
