September 22, 2025/ Mahiri Football Academy continued its impressive run on Sunday, registering commanding wins across three age brackets and underlining why it is fast becoming one of the brightest talent nurseries in western Kenya.
In the Under-15 clash, Mahiri edged Kakamega County FC in a thrilling 6-5 encounter. The star of the show was Ken Oloo (pictured above), who struck a superb first-half hat-trick to set the tone for Mahiri. Ibrahim Zuber added a brace, while Haningtone Kasi sealed the victory with a well-taken goal.
The Under-14 side followed up with a convincing 4-0 win over Pendo Junior School, displaying fluid passing and clinical finishing. Not to be left behind, the Under-11 boys dominated Red Eagles Academy 3-0, showing that Mahiri’s production line of talent is strong from the youngest levels upwards.

Speaking after the matches, academy patron Benbella Oyalo praised the players’ discipline and fighting spirit. He singled out Oloo for his attacking brilliance and composure in front of goal, calling him “a striker to watch.”
“Our next fixture is the Mashujaa Day tournament at Bungoma High School. We will take the Under-15s to represent the academy in the Under-15 category,” Oyalo said, brimming with confidence about his charges’ chances.
The weekend victories add to Mahiri’s growing reputation as not only a licensed football academy but also a dependable feeder of talent to established football powerhouses like Butere Girls, Musingu, and Kakamega High. With Oyalo’s vision of combining discipline, academic excellence, and sporting talent, Mahiri is proving that the future of Kakamega football is in safe hands.
