April 28, 2026| On Tuesday, the youths of Changara gathered at the ACK Church for a high-stakes forum that brought together elected leaders, aspirants, and political representatives to confront the deep-seated challenges facing their area.
The attendance was significant: Teso North MP aspirant Charles Chesseto, MCA aspirant Chemasuet Junior, representatives of gubernatorial hopeful Arthur Osiya, Eng. Fredrick Odilo, and area MCA David Parapara all sat through deliberations that left no issue untouched.
Unemployment. Insecurity. Crumbling schools and roads. A bursary system with no clear criteria—especially punishing for students studying outside the county. Limited electricity. Unresolved dam concerns. One by one, the youths laid bare the failures of years past.
By the end, the message was clear and unified: the youths of Changara are informed, engaged, and no longer waiting. They are ready to demand accountable leadership that delivers tangible solutions—not promises.
Addressing the gathering, Chesseto struck a practical tone. He pushed for affordable day secondary education through a well-structured bursary programme, revealing a bold vision: free day secondary schooling across the entire constituency.
He also took a firm stand on the Busia–Bungoma boundary, insisting it be respected. Then came a warning dressed as a promise: by 2027, his hometown of Changara must be given its due—recognition, dignity, and equitable development.
On employment, Chesseto was equally direct. He called for an urgent move to establish an industrial park in the area—a concrete step to attract investment and create sustainable jobs for the youth.
The forum closed on a defiant note: a strong call for visionary leadership rooted in practical solutions and inclusive development. More than just talk, it signaled a growing determination among Changara’s youths to stop being spectators and actively shape their own future.
