May 4, 2026| Principals from Malava Constituency have praised area MP David Ndakwa for his commitment to improving education.

Speaking during a bursary allocation ceremony at the Malava NGCDF office, where Ksh 46 million was disbursed to schools, the principals said the MP has prioritized education to boost academic performance in the constituency.

Rose Abuko, chairperson of the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) for Kabras East sub-county and principal of Malava Girls, said the goal is to raise the sub-county’s education standing and increase university enrollment.

Laban Sikolia, senior principal of Shamberere Boys and KESSHA chair for Kabras West, noted that the constituency is fortunate to have a leader who is also an educationist. “He knows exactly where to press to achieve better results,” Sikolia said.

He added that Ndakwa, a former publisher of learning materials, had helped him publish three of his eight books between 2003 and 2004. “I know his potential. I call on my fellow principals to walk with him in making academics in Malava great again,” Sikolia said.

He also lauded the MP’s efforts through partners to improve school infrastructure, noting that many schools have already benefited. He assured that Kabras West, the MP’s home turf, will produce excellent results in return for his continued support.

Michael Amukowa Ochieng, KESSHA chairman for Kakamega County, said the bursary was timely and would help settle outstanding school bills. “The teaching fraternity is pleased to receive these funds,” he said, adding that learning will continue as normal.
